HOW ARE LAMPWORK GLASS BEADS MADE?
Lampwork glass beads are made on a steel rod. Each bead starts with a rod of colored or clear glass and is wrapped around the steel rod which has been coated with bead release so it will come off the rod when done. This creates the hole you use to string it with. Different steel rod diameters create the different hole sizes. Some very small and some very large depending on the style of bead.
Putting the glass on in different shapes creates the base shape for the finished product then the details are added. I hope this answered some of the questions you may have thought about! :)
